The Fontaines Trip to the Galapagos
Parishioners Rich and Trina Fontaine have had an exciting summer. Rich left his job at Martha Stewart Omnimedia after 18 years to take a new position at Lindblad Expeditions, where he is Chief Marketing Officer. His new employer wanted Rich to get a feel for what the company offers, so off Rich and Trina went, on a 10 day trip to the Galapagos. They took amazing photos, walking up close to many forms of wildlife. The photos below look like National Geographic shots by a professional, but were taken by Rich and Trina.

Rich and Trina snorkeled among sharks in the crevice at this rock formation, known as Leon Dormido, located near the coast of San Cristobal Island.
After this amazing trip Rich is excited to begin his new job marketing such expeditions. Of this vacation Rich said,
"The Galapagos Islands are one of the most pristine areas in the world, with a vast number of endemic species, who lack any fear of humans -- allowing unparalleled access and proximity. 97% of the islands are national parkland, and visitor limits are strictly controlled by the Ecuadorian government to protect this natural wonder. The islands are a stunning example of effective conservation and preservation efforts." |

HOSTS FOR ICED TEA ON THE LAWN: In summer, when so many people are traveling, we don't assign weekly hosting duty for iced tea on the lawn. We need volunteers to sign up each week. The same goes for Saturday evening wine and cheese. Please let the office know if you can host these after service fellowship gatherings. Call the office at 273-3812 or email to [email protected]. |
