January 2016
Greetings!

"There are only two days in the year

that nothing can be done.

One is called yesterday, and the other is called tomorrow,

so today is the right day to love, believe, do, and mostly live."

Dalai Lama

At Maryholme...

Bald Eagle Spotted at Shore!
Imagine our excitement at discovering this majestic creature one foggy morning this week,  perched on
a limb outside Edgar's west sun porch!

Volunteer News
Sr. Victoria's Schneider died suddenly this past week at Loretto Abbey, Toronto. Every Tuesday morning from May-September she helped out in the gardens. You can see her in the forefront, tackling the labyrinth stones. She will be missed.

From the Archives...
The wonder of winter's stillness here has not changed, only Edgar's porch door and the half wall of cedar hedge leading to it ... can you spot any other changes?

Comments
from our guests...

Many thanks to our wonderful visitors
who take the time to write in our guestbook
and send us notes...

"Thank you for offering such
a beautiful and tranquil place to come and reconnect to oneself
I received the blessings of the space
and left some to share with others. Namaste."

"Wonderful experience!
Gives me courage to meet
the changes ahead."

Spiritual Nourishment...

"When the song of the angels is stilled,
When the star in the sky is gone,
When the kings and princes are home,
When the shepherds are back with their flock,
The work of Christmas begins:
To find the lost,
To heal the broken,
To feed the hungry,
To release the prisoner,
To rebuild the nations.
To bring peace among all,
To make music in the heart."
Howard Thurman

"God will assist and help you,
it is no matter the who
but the what."
Mary Ward
