Sisters in Spirit Vigil Sunday, October 4, 2015 from 4pm-5pm
October 4th is a day where we honour the lives of missing and murdered Aboriginal women and girls, as well as support grieving families and provide opportunities for healing. The violence experienced by Aboriginal women and girls in Canada is a national tragedy. United we can demand action on an issue that impacts us all!
Here you can read and listen to stories of women - very moving.
In 2004 we built a cairn made of stones representing 200 missing or murdered Aboriginal women. The tragedy continues. Join the vigil to remember our Sisters in Spirit and their families as more women are named and stones are placed on the cairn. No registration necessary.

At Maryholme...
Calling all creative ones...
The storm of August 2, 2015 damaged our big maple
in the east lawn just north of the second dock.
We were sad to cut off the affected limbs, but decided to keep what was left to see if anyone has a creative idea for the transforming maple... let us know!
Trees are very important, especially for their cooling effect. We planted a flowering pear tree and the 2015 Jubilee tree, a London Plane, will soon appear near the parking area. It is never too late to plant a tree. When did you last plant one lately?
