At Maryholme...
The Flowering Almond is in Bloom!
Our Flowering Almond puts on a spectacular show for us
every spring here at Maryholme. And we in the office
get to enjoy it the most, as its lovely branches sway in the breeze right outside our window ...
Native to China, Flowering Almond bushes produce masses
of pink flowers early in the spring. Their breathtaking display gives us a glimpse of the lovely array of colours
that will be showing themselves in our gardens,
as spring unfolds in this sacred space...
Congratulations!
A round of applause for Sr. Mary for winning First Prize
at our local gardeners club for the Pasque Flower
she submitted from the lovely grounds
of Loretto Maryholme.
The Maryholme Mink....
This past month we had some repairs done under Blackbird Cabin, only to discover a mound of crayfish shells, all very tidily arranged in a wonderful pile. It seems our elusive resident mink has been dining on seafood in his own private dining area for quite some time now! He will surely
be quite sorry to discover that his dining room is now permanently closed, since the repairs were completed!
We are posting a picture of one of his relatives, in hopes
that one of our guests may recognize our tidy fella scampering along the shore this summer, and snap
a picture of him to share with our readers!
