GoggleWorks Center for the Arts will hold the first arts festival READING on Saturday and Sunday, October 20-21, 2012. The show will include more than 70 juried artists, our GoggleWorks studio artists, music, performing arts and food. The festival will take place inside our main building and the hot glass studio. Proceeds will benefit GoggleWorks.
The arts festival READING is currently accepting applications for artists and artisans known for quality and craftsmanship in both traditional and contemporary styles. The jury process began February 1, 2012, with notifications for acceptance beginning March 1, 2012. The deadline for application is June 1.

Pagoda Writers will meet Saturday, July 7th [they meet every 1st Saturday of the month] from 1-3pm at the Pagoda. Their mission is to inspire writers [of all ages] and provide a creative writing experience through special speakers and workshop...all this is FREE!

Top of the Block is back for 2012! Once again, #teamcorridor, in collaboration with First Friday Reading and RDG Hip Hop Summit, are bringing you one of downtown Reading's best family-friendly arts and music festivals.
Admission is FREE, Parking in the DoubleTree Garage is FREE. Come out and support the community's best musicians, artists, and restaurant vendors. Arts and Crafts and Food will be available for purchase as well as the return of the very popular Chinese Auction! Plus, there will be plenty of children's activities too!! Bring the whole family.
Over 1,000 people were in attendance last year! So please spread the word and be sure to invite everyone you know and help make this a hugely successful event, again!!

The board of directors of the Reading Downtown Improvement District Authority holds a public meeting on the fourth Monday of each month at Noon. The meetings are held at the DID office, 645 Penn Street, 5th Floor. The next meeting is scheduled for Monday, July 23, 2012

DOWNTOWN LIVE
Our BCTV show airs the 2nd Thursday of every month (July 12th) at 6:00 pm. It features interviews with restaurant owners, chefs and other business owners within the Downtown Improvement District and highlights upcoming events. The show is produced by Barbara Tarczynski and hosted by David Kersley and Ed Kopicki. The show can be viewed on Comcast Channel 13 and Service Electric Cablevision Channel 19.

These meeting take place on the third Tuesday of each month at 7:45 am. The meetings are open to anyone interested in promoting downtown reading.
