Thank you for all of your support

As 2013 comes to a close, we simply want to say thank you to everyone who has helped us to make this eventful year a success. Bumble bees, dragonflies, and butterflies are not the most charismatic creatures, but they are some of the most important and they must be protected. All of us at Xerces are so impressed by the generous support of our members and enthusiastic fans who continually stand by our work, allowing us to advocate for and protect these essential creatures. So much less would have been achieved this year without all of your involvement.

We are regularly amazed by the growth of the Xerces Society from a small, volunteer-run organization to the professional organization that it is today, especially the dramatic expansion of the last decade. We now have 25 dedicated staff members (soon to be 27!) working to uphold and further our mission. This growth was made possible not only by the support of our members, but by the foundations and government agencies that provide additional funding to run our programs; by our partners in both the public and private sectors who collaborate with Xerces to make effective conservation projects happen; by all the creative photographers and contributors to our publications; and by the leadership of our board of directors, counselors, and scientific advisors who guide the Society with their great expertise.

You are all truly our heroes! And as we look to the future, we will continue to build on the work that we have accomplished over the past forty years and steer forward as an international leader in science-based conservation. Invertebrates deserve attention; thank you for joining us in the fight to protect them.

From all of us at Xerces, have a wonderful holiday season!
