Important Changes to the GI Bill:
- As of August 1, 2013, service members who would like to transfer their benefits to their dependents will extend their service by four years, regardless of proximity to retirement.
- Effective October 1, 2013, a Veteran can no longer exhaust MGIB AD to get an additional 12 months under Post 9/11 GI Bill. Public Law 111-377 prevents individuals from using the same period of service to establish entitlement to more than one benefit. Visit the VA website for more information on qualifying periods.
The Post-9/11 GI Bill has a Facebook page. Follow it to get the latest news and updates on the bill as well as helpful resources for military members and their families.
