The CMVE Grand Opening was a Huge Success!

Thank you to everyone who made the event great, and thanks especially to our military students. As the Center's Executive Director, Dr. Bruce Brunson stated at the event, "We only have one job, and it's to serve you." It's a pleasure to serve you here at the new and improved CMVE!

CMVE in the News

The CMVE Grand Opening was covered by several media outlets.

Wavy TV and WVEC covered the event.

The CMVE and its services were covered in a story in the publication Inside Business

The Journal Military Advanced Education (MAE) selected Tidewater

MAE award

Community College as a "top military-friendly school" in their 2013 guide to Top Military-Friendly Colleges & Universities, a list that is featured annually in their December issue. Being selected for 2013 was no small feat as the publication recently made changes to the guide's requirements. TCC CMVE is proud to be a part of this elite list of schools that help serve our service members and their families!

Funding a College Education - Upcoming Workshops

The Virginia Tidewater Consortium's Educational Opportunity Center (EOC) brings you a briefing that will focus on grants & loans from the federal government, state financial aid programs, surviving scholarship searches, and the overall application process.

The workshop is hosted by the Navy College Office and is open to all military personnel, retirees, family members, and other base employees/personnel. Normal military base access is required. This program includes information that will assist adult students opting to return to college later in life, rising high school JUNIORS & SENIORS, parents of all high school students, and others who may be facing the rising expenses of college in the very near future. Local military scholarship representatives always try to be on hand to provide information on their awards, and they do plan to stay afterwards for your specific questions
