June 7, 2016 Finger Lakes Connected

So I don't make real meals very often. Sorry. I just don't. I'm very good at grilled cheese w/tomato soup and other quick delicacies that my kids are used to. But I got this great idea (so I thought) to make chicken stir fry. Rice, broccoli, chicken, soy sauce. Seemed like a brilliant "rah rah mom is in the kitchen" kind of idea. Then I look over at my son and his not one, but THREE plates.
"What on earth are you doing?" I ask, watching him dissect the concoction I was so proud of.
"I can't eat all these things mixed together!" he replies.
"What? Do you think there are three seperate places in your body where the broccoli, the chicken, and the rice respectively go?"
He did think about this but went right back to the separating mission. At least he ate everything. But he did violate the "bonus points for using less dishes" idea. Idk. I think the moral of the story is I need to hang out in other rooms of the house.
