10am Monday, May 30th starting at The American Legion. This year's route will be down Main Street, turning at Buffalo St, then turning at Pearl St to end at The Woodlawn Cemetery! ALL ARE WELCOME TO PARTICIPATE! Show up at 9:30 am if your group wants to be part of the parade!
Join the Parade! Applications Now Available to Participate in the 2016 Fourth of July Parade in Canandaigua   
The annual Fourth of July Celebration is on Mon, July 4. The celebration will include a parade, food vendors, and entertainment in Kershaw Park, concluding with a firework display in the evening. Applications to march in this year's parade are now available, and can be found onlineApplications are due Mon, June 6.
  
This year's theme is "Movers and Shakers- Past, Present and Future," honoring people, organizations, businesses and historic places in Canandaigua. Apply to be a part of the parade in a number of ways. Community groups, local businesses and community members can build floats, play music, entertain in a walking group, or drive a car during the parade. The parade will begin in the Ontario St Parking Lot and head down Main St, continuing from the County Court House to Lakeshore Dr.

JDNorth Farm in Gorham will be hosting a Trail Challenge on September 18, 2016. This is an event for horses and riders, featuring obstacles to navigate along a marked course on our working cash crop farm. Tee shirt sales and obstacle sponsorships will benefit Light Hill and Stanley/Hall/Gorham Ambulance Squad. Food will be available from the Marcus Whitman Football Boosters. FLCC offers more than 250 summer classes
Finger Lakes Community College is offering more than 250 summer classes for current and incoming students, students on break from other colleges and community members.

Courses are offered online and in the classroom. They are scheduled in four-week, six-week, and 12-week sessions through the summer.
  
FLCC routinely offers summer courses to provide flexibility and hands-on opportunities for current students. Other offerings are meant to help new FLCC students get a head start on general education courses such as English composition, college algebra, western civilization, biology and chemistry. These courses are open to students enrolled at other colleges who want to save money on lower FLCC tuition and transfer the credits.
  
 
PAT RINI ROHRER GALLLERY Proudly Presents "The Colors of Spring". The spring art show showcases the artist's interpretation of the excitement and colors of spring. We feature regional artists and their original work which celebrates our spectacular regional scenery and trips abroad, as well as inspired abstractions and imagery.The exhibit will open with a reception at the gallery on Saturday, May 21, from 6-8pm. Refreshments will be served during the opening night reception which is free and open to the public. The exhibit runs from May 21 and runs thru July 31st.

Finger Lakes Plein Air is seeking highly motivated and friendly volunteers for an exciting Plein Air "outdoor painting" competition & festival held in Canandaigua. Volunteer tasks include passing out posters and rack cards, and helping out with Les Petits ticket sales prior to the festival dates, helping during the artist registration and check in, staging events, serving food at events, hanging paintings, answering questions about the festival at the information center, greeting visitors, exhibition set up/take down, data entry, interacting with visitors at the exhibition, processing sales, clean up after the exhibition and "anything where you need me". Other volunteers will comprise street teams that help with the Saturday Quick Draw and the Community Paint Out!

Persons of all ages, abilities, and talents are needed before, during, and after the week of the festival. Volunteers will be given an orientation and training session to be held Thursday, June 2 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm
at the Canandaigua Yacht Club (3524 Co Rd 16, Canandaigua, NY).

Diabetes Support Group Meets This Wednesday
The Diabetes Support Group offered by UR Medicine's Thompson Health will meet Wednesday, May 18, from 5 to 6 p.m. in the Cardiac Rehabilitation Conference Room near the main lobby of Thompson Hospital, 350 Parrish St. This group is for people with Type 2 diabetes and their families.  Jane Hallstead, RN, MSN, CDE, facilitates the group and this month, the topic is "Dealing With High Blood Glucose After Meals."
