March 1, 2016 Finger Lakes Connected Enewsletter
Ok so the power just went out! What's wrong with this picture....?
Rachel (10): I'm scared! Its dark in my room and the iPad isn't working!
Cady (14): How will I do my nails?
Sam (12): What will I do for breakfast tomorrow?
Sean: How am I gonna watch the SU game?
Me: What's the matter with you people? How do you think families lived when this house was originally built? Get some candles! This is fun! And Sam you can spread the peanut butter on an untoasted English muffin! Don't worry!!!
Ps Must remember to find flashlights when power comes back on....and book next vacation to third world country or better yet start a survival training company right here to offer family bonding excursions? Any takers on who would be able to run such a thing? Inside every problem there is opportunity.....

Pi (Pie) Day at the Ontario County Historical Society. March 14th!

March 14th is "Pi Day," often celebrated with pies. After all, they are most often made in a circular form, and the concept of pi (π) is used to calculate the circumference of a circle!

This year, the Ontario County Historical Society will celebrate the history of pie and pi with a special Pi/Pie Day celebration. The fun will start at the museum at 1:59 PM on Monday, March 14, since mathematically; pi is valued at 3.14159-get it?

Enter one of your favorite "pies" in the "Pi Day" contest and help us raise a little money to support the museum's education programs. Be creative! Show some imagination! A panel of judges will decide on the winners in several categories.

All pies must be brought to the Ontario County Historical Society Museum (55 N. Main St., Canandaigua) by Noon on Monday, March 14. Judging takes place at the museum at 2:00 PM on March 14th!

Digestive Health - Heartburn
Everyone has suffered at one time or another with heartburn (also known as acid indigestion) which is a painful, burning feeling in the middle of your chest or the upper part of your stomach. The pain can be momentary or stick with you for hours. Lifestyle changes can help reduce heartburn, but there are over-the-counter medications that can help treat heartburn on a short-term basis.

There are 3 different classes of medications - Antacids, H2 Blockers such as Zantac, or Proton-Pump Inhibitors such as Nexium or Omeprazole. Each drug class works differently, as well as how fast they start working, and how long the effects last. Call (585) 396-9970 or stop into Canandaigua The Medicine Shoppe  (66 West Ave) to talk to our knowledgeable staff and start getting relief today.
