November 17, 2015 CC ENewsletter

Thank you so much to all who submitted such captivating photos of our gorgeous Finger Lakes region! I was really taken aback by the plethora of beauty all around us, so wonderfully captured by such talented locals. It is hard to narrow down but I'm working on it! Again, THANK YOU for helping to add color and flavor to the "coming soon" new website! For all you advertisers out there, NOW is the time to sign up for your 2016 ad packages! Not only is our subscribership demographic growing, but if you sign up now you will receive the rest of 2015 FREE! I've always loved a deal and my kids wonder why I'm the only mom trying to bargain at regular stores as if they are flea markets, but who doesn't love a deal? I like to get deals and I like to give them out! Email me for rates. Low cost, SIMPLE advertising that works!
Blue Skies,
Donna Bennett

Mobility Aids provide help to those of us who need assistance in getting around. Canes are a low tech mobility aid. There are 2 primary types of canes - a single point where only one point touches the ground and multi- point or quad cane - multiple points which touch the ground. These canes can stand on their own and offer more support than a single point cane.
  • Straight canes help you maintain balance and stability and usually are height adjustable.
  • Offset handle canes are a good choice for those who cannot grip firmly, plus they help distribute weight along the shaft of the cane. Most are height adjustable.
  • Folding seat canes offer stability of a straight cane, but also have a folding seat if you need to rest.
  • Quad canes have 4 tips and provide extra balance, support and stability.
  • Folding canes are a convenient choice if you do not need a cane all the time. These canes feature a telescoping shaft that folds into sections so you can store in our purse or tote.
  • Bariatric canes are designed for users over 250 lbs. They are available with offset handles and quad foot bases for added support.
Canes come in different lengths so make sure you chose one that is adjusted to you height. To determine the correct height do the following - stand in your regular shoes and stand tall with your arms at your side. The top of the cane should meet your wrist. If the cane is adjusted to the right length you should have a 20-30 degree bend in the elbow. If you think a cane can make a difference in your mobility, stop into Canandaigua The Medicine Shoppe and let our knowledgeable staff help you enjoy life to the fullest.
If you are a potential vendor selling high quality food, art, or craft items produced in the Finger Lakes area, there is a vendor survey at the same website, or you can email them at kris@canandaiguatrading.com.

Pre-orders for holiday gifts and gift baskets will be taken at canandaiguatrading.com from mid-November through mid-December.
