October 27, 2015 CC ENewsletter

A great success! Every year, we ask merchants for gift cards or baskets and ask you to buy tickets and this is what it is all about. Raising funds to improve our community. I know I may be annoying and pushy for one month or so, but it is all worth it! Here is a picture from the well attended event

6th Annual Halloween Fundraiser
Canandaigua Comfort Care Home

where Canandaigua Fitness & community made over $4000 for the new hospice home to open soon in Canandaigua. Canandaigua Comfort Care Home is located at 5160 Parrish Street Ext, Canandaigua NY. They will be equipped to care for two residents at a time who are nearing the end of life. They are staffed entirely by volunteers and rely solely on donations and fundraisers to operate. Stop by and see the house and if you feel so inclined to make a tax-deductible donation, you may mail a check (for any amount) to them at the above address. They are very grateful for every donation made! Happy Halloween, everyone. Be safe and enjoy!

Prayers and well wishes go out to Courtney's family as they say goodbye to a beautiful person they've grown accustomed to seeing. The beauty, though, is that the soul of their daughter, sister, and our friend is not gone. Her spirit will live on in those she touched and we can hold on to her strength and courage still as an ever present feeling. She battled something so publicly and is now able to be at peace. RIP Courtney.

It's cold and flu season and you are wondering how to keep you and your family healthy.  Here are some tips from the Centers for Disease Control.
1. Get a flu shot.
2. Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when coughing or sneezing.
3. Clean your hands. Washing hands will prevent the spread of germs. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol based hand sanitizer.

If you do get sick, ask your pharmacist for assistance in choosing the correct over-the-counter medication. Things to consider are selecting the right ingredient(s) to treat your symptoms, the product is appropriate for your age, the product is safe to use with regards to allergies or diseases you may have, and is safe to use with any prescription medications you currently take. Stop by the Medicine Shoppe and our  knowledgeable staff will assist you in getting the right medication for you.
Annual Breast Cancer Breakfast is WEDNESDAY, October 28th.  Join us at Ray's Restaurant (Rt. 332 next to Tom Wahl's) beginning at 8am for breakfast & speakers.  Breakfast is $15.
