February 10, 2015 Canandaigua Connected ENewsletter

I don't think we've had this much snow...ever! Usually, we get a melting reprieve but temps do not say this is so.  There is nothing left to do but get used to it. Drive slower, be safer, and leave earlier to get where you need to go this week. Maybe Valentine's Day will warm things up? Nope...just checked. For Friday, it says a HIGH of 5 degrees!

Important Questions for Your Pharmacist

A visit to your local pharmacy can be more than just a quick stop to pick up your prescription or over the counter medication. It is also a convenient time to have a conversation with your pharmacist about your medications. Pharmacists are trained to help patients manage medications and be the primary source of information - not the Internet.

Questions to ask the Pharmacist:

1, What is the name of the medication and what is it supposed to do?

2. When and how do I take it?

3. What are possible side effects and what should I do if they occur?

4. Will the new medicine work safely with the other medications and supplements that I take?

5. What foods, beverages or activities should I avoid while taking a new medication?

Stop into the only independent pharmacy, Canandaigua The Medicine Shoppe, to talk to our professional and knowledgeable pharmacist staff- Julie English and Vito Lavango.
