Family Signing Time. Thursday, Oct 30| 6:30 PM
This new edition of our popular Baby signing time series opens the world of signing to parents and their preschoolers ages 2-5. Family Signing Time teaches families to communicate through American Sign Language and make it fun to learn. Instructor Niki Orbaker will lead our weekly classes and each session will build on the signs taught in previous classes. Registration is requested. The series will run through on Thursday evenings at 6:30 September 11 - November 20th and classes are free.
Scary Stories Told in the Dark. Thurs, Oct 30| 7PM
Are you ready for some hair-raising tales? Only the bravest 3rd - 6th graders should dare to join us for this program of bone chilling stories. There's no need to register, but please come in costume! Treats will be given to those who don't try to trick the teller!

Free concert at FLCC Wednesday
The teachers will take the stage for the fall Faculty Recital on Wednesday, Oct. 29, at Finger Lakes Community College. The free public concert begins at 7 p.m. in the main campus auditorium, 3325 Marvin Sands Drive. College faculty will share a wide variety of vocal and instrumental music, including original work.
"Performers will often share observations about the piece, making it an audience-friendly concert," noted David McGuire of Rochester, professor of music, who will play an original composition of his own.
Faculty performers also include Geoffrey Smith of Canandaigua, professor of music; adjunct faculty member Jo-Hannah Reynolds of Dresden; adjunct faculty member Deborah Conquest of Rochester; adjunct faculty Maria Gillard of Canandaigua; and alumnus and adjunct faculty member Leo Medler '06 of Spencerport. Ferris Hills to Host Caregivers' Conference
On Thursday, Nov. 6, Ferris Hills at West Lake will host Finger Lakes Visiting Nurse Service's 16th annual Caring for the Caregiver Conference from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
The theme of the conference is "The Joy of Aging," with presentation topics including humor, music, dance and pet therapy. Linda Farchione Hawks, the former president and CEO of Thompson Health, is the keynote speaker. Legal advice will also be provided during the conference, which is presented in collaboration with Comfort Keepers, Elm Manor, F.F. Thompson Hospital and Wegmans.
The cost of $15 per person includes lunch and a book to take home. To register by this Friday, Oct. 31, call (315) 789-9821.
Gentle Yoga Series Starts Next Week
Thompson Health will host a Gentle Yoga series on Wednesdays, Nov. 5-Dec. 17, from noon to 1:15 p.m. in the Thompson Conference Center on the ground floor of Thompson Hospital, 350 Parrish St.
Join instructor Rick Lynch of the Finger Lakes Yoga Center for a gentle mind-body workout designed to improve your posture as well as increase your strength and flexibility.

Do you know a great kid that has what it takes to make it big in business? YEA! may be just the thing to get them up and running. The Canandaigua Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!) class teaches students between 11 and 18 years old how to start and run their own business, or non-profit organization.The class meets Wednesdays from 4-7pm at FLCC beginning November 5th and runs through May. Students in Canandaigua, surrounding districts, and home schooled students should apply as soon as possible. Applications are still being accepted on a rolling basis and interviews will start being scheduled next week.
