We now have over $3300 worth of silent auction items so come do some Christmas shopping in you Halloween Costume at the 5th Annual Halloween Fundraiser for The Serenity House! SH is a Comfort Care Home for the terminally ill in Victor and the funds are used for maintaining the house and caring for the patients. This is always a fun event (yes, costumes are encouraged). There is music, dancing, silent auction, cash bar/food....$10 tickets are available at all the CNB branches in Canandaigua, Victor, Shortsville, Farmington, and Bloomfield! $15 at the door. 
This year's event is at the Inn on the Lake, Fri, Oct 24, 5-8pm with a costume party after featuring the talent of Roc Street (8-10pm) and John Carter 10pm-?! PS Each $10 ticket gets you entered to win the Mirbeau Inn and Spa Grand Prize giveaway (you don't have to be present to win)! So even if you cannot go, please consider buying a ticket to support the cause and enter to win. Details below.

Teen Librarian Kelley Blue brings you the "Fall into the Future" movie series. Every Teen Pizza & Movie Night from September-November will offer thought provoking visions of the future. October's movie takes us to a world where technology has evolved to allow "extractors" to enter people's dreams to find their innermost secrets. Pizza is free, movie is PG-13. This program is for middle/high school students age 13+.
To Dream the Impossible Beam: Does Star Trek Physics Make Sense?. Thurs, October 23| 7:00 PM
How much science is there in science fiction? Is a future with faster-than-light travel and people beaming from one spot to another possible? Theoretical physics professor Donald Spector will use Star Trek as a science fiction laboratory, and will help us figure out what they get right, what they get wrong, and what we just don't know about yet. And don't worry: no previous knowledge of Star Trek or physics is needed to enjoy this talk.

The Haunted Garden Stroll will be held on October 26 6 pm - 8:30 pm. Admission for the Haunted Garden Stroll is $5/person and is free to children under 5. The entrance for this event will be at Sonnenberg's Fort Hill Avenue gate, which is just inside of the Canandaigua VA grounds. Parking will be in the adjacent VA parking lot. FLCC offers health care job training
Finger Lakes Community College will offer a seven -week class, starting Dec. 8, to prepare participants for employment in hospitals and other health care facilities.
Those interested in the certified nurse assistant/home health aide training program must first attend an orientation session at the FLCC main campus, 3325 Marvin Sands Drive. Prospective students may attend an orientation Wednesday, Nov. 5, at 9 a.m., or make an orientation appointment.
In addition to being prepared to take the New York State Nurse Assistant Certification Exam, graduates of this dual course earn an HHA certification. Graduates of the FLCC nurse assistant/home health aide program have a 96 percent pass rate on the state exam and a 98 percent job placement rate.
FLCC offers the classes several times per year in varying locations. Another second class, for nurse assistants only, is offered at the State University of New York at Brockport starting Dec. 15. The orientation for the Brockport class is Oct. 24.

Gentle Yoga Series Coming Up
A Gentle Yoga series hosted by UR Medicine's Thompson Health is about to begin. The series will be held Wednesdays, Nov. 5 through Dec. 17, from noon to 1:15 p.m. in the Thompson Conference Center on the ground floor of Thompson Hospital, 350 Parrish St. in Canandaigua.
Join instructor Rick Lynch of the Finger Lakes Yoga Center for a gentle mind-body workout, improving your posture as well as increasing your strength and flexibility.

The Rehabilitation Services Department at UR Medicine's Thompson Hospital will host a Total Joint Replacement Group Education Program on Wednesday, Nov. 5, from 3 to 4:30 p.m. in the Thompson Conference Center on the ground floor of the hospital at 350 Parrish St.

Do you know a great kid that has what it takes to make it big in business? YEA! may be just the thing to get them up and running. The Canandaigua Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!) class teaches students between 11 and 18 years old how to start and run their own business, or non-profit organization.The class meets Wednesdays from 4-7pm at FLCC beginning November 5th and runs through May. Students in Canandaigua, surrounding districts, and home schooled students should apply as soon as possible. Applications are still being accepted on a rolling basis and interviews will start being scheduled next week.
