Sept 16, 2014 Canandaigua Connected ENewsletter
I have to admit a sense of relief after having this 9/11 come and go so quietly. I remember thirteen years ago I was walking our newborn baby in the stroller when the traumatic events unfolded. We lived about an hour away from New York City at the time and it was a clear beautiful day. I remember it being hard to fathom that such hatred against us existed to commit such horrific acts. This 9/11, I looked up at the skies twice and my sense of well-being was restored as the all quiet on the Western front feeling came over me. We know the hatred is still there, but we cannot live in fear. All we can do is be aware, love our families, our neighbors, and our friends and keep the hope and faith alive.
Blue Skies, Donna Bennett
