I miraculously survived the FIVE HOUR mall excursion last week and set some rules for next year. 1. THREE hours max (including lunch) 2. No outside the mall stops like Old Navy or Five Below and (most important) 3. When I say we're done, it is seriously in everyone's best interest to accept it. It doesn't mean lets stand in line to get those sugary pretzel bite things or make a "quick stop" at JC Penney's.
Somehow, this Monday is Labor Day. To me, this summer started out slow moving, but its coming to a screeching halt WAY too quickly. School starts Sept 3rd and it is also my birthday....hmmmmm. Coincidence?

 14th Annual CA Touch Football Camp
CA Touch Football Camp is for any boy or girl ages 4-12. Program runs on Saturday mornings from 9-10:30am at Northeast Park on Chapel Street.
The camp is six consecutive weeks beginning September 13. All campers are grouped by age in this non-contact program.
This program has emphasis on participation, skill development, sportsmanship and FUN!!!
Players will learn the basic fundamentals and incorporate those skills into a controlled non-contact game.

Do you know a great kid that has what it takes to make it big in business? YEA! may be just the thing to get them up and running. The Canandaigua Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!) class teaches students between 11 and 18 years old how to start and run their own business, or non-profit organization. The class meets weekly and will be offered to Canandaigua School District students (home school and other surrounding district children welcome too) during the 2014/2015 school year from November through May.
There will be an information session held on Thursday, September 10th from 7-8 pm at Wood Library. Click here for an application. Applications will be accepted through October 10th.

Like singing Christmas songs? Join us!
The Finger Lakes Chorale, a community chorus based at Finger Lakes Community College, has openings for singers for its holiday concerts.
Rehearsals will be on Tuesdays from 7 to 9 p.m. beginning Sept. 2 at the FLCC main campus, 3325 Marvin Sands Drive, Canandaigua, in room B355 on the third floor.
The holiday concert dates are Saturday, Dec. 13, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 14, at 3 p.m. in the auditorium on the main campus.
Prior choral singing experience is preferred but not required. A $5 non-credit registration fee is payable at the first rehearsal. Singers should arrive early to complete the registration process. Singers can also get college credit for participation. Registration and tuition information for college credit is available at the FLCC One Stop Center at (585) 785-1000.
The Chorale is comprised of singers from throughout the Finger Lakes area.

CHAPLAIN'S VOLUNTEER INFORMATIONAL MEETING
On Wednesday, Sept. 17, you can learn how chaplain's volunteers at Thompson Health receive training in a variety of healthcare subjects in order to support each patient, resident, client and loved one in a way that is meaningful and helpful to him or her. An informational meeting will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. in the chapel just off the main lobby of the hospital. For more information, call (585) 396-6486. Thompson Health hosts an educational and social monthly support gathering for first-time mothers and their babies, regardless of where the babies were born. Carrie Hartman, RN, BSN, and Courtney Phillips, RN, lactation consultant, are available to answer questions about breastfeeding and parenting at these meetings, and no RSVP required.
