Finger Lakes Plein Air is seeking highly motivated and friendly volunteers for an exciting Plein Air "outdoor painting" competition & festival held in Canandaigua. Volunteer tasks include passing out posters and rack cards prior to the festival dates, helping during the artist registration and check in, staging events, serving food and at events, hanging paintings, answering questions about the festival at the information center, greeting visitors, exhibition set up/take down, data entry, interacting with visitors at the exhibition, processing sales, clean up after the exhibition and "anything where you need me". Other volunteers will comprise street teams that help with the Saturday Quick Draw and the Community Paint Out!

The Canandaigua Cheerleading Booster Club presents its 1st Annual Golf Tournament Birdies & Bogeys for the BRAVES on Saturday, June 14. The tournament will be held at Centerpointe Golf Club in Canandaigua, NY. The price to participate is $80 per player/$320 per team if you register by May 15th. After May 15th, the price goes to $90 per player/$360 per team and registration is due by May 31st. The price includes 18 holes of golf, a cart, lunch, and a buffet dinner. There will be a 50/50 raffle and silent auction during the dinner. All proceeds from this event will benefit the Canandaigua Cheerleading Program.

Hundreds of Finger Lakes Community College students walked across the CMAC stage on May 17 during the college's 46th commencement ceremony.
About half the graduates earned transfer degrees to allow them to continue their education at four-year schools. The rest received career degrees accounting, business administration, culinary arts, graphic design, hotel and resort management, mechanical design and drafting, nursing, viticulture and wine technology and many other areas.

Rose Walk Coming Up June 14 at Sonnenberg
Thompson Health's annual Rose Walk will take place Saturday, June 14, from 8 to 11 a.m. at Sonnenberg Gardens & Mansion State Historic Park, 151 Charlotte St. in Canandaigua. For a minimum donation of $10, participants are invited to walk a 1- or 2-mile route through historic Canandaigua and enjoy refreshments, free admission to the gardens and more. The first 100 walkers with at least $25 in donations receive a free Rose Walk T-shirt. Proceeds benefit the Fralick Cardiac Rehabilitation Center Patient Scholarship Fund at Thompson Hospital. Forum on Joint Replacement June 4
Thompson Health's monthly Total Joint Replacement Group Education Program will be held on Wednesday, June 4, from 3 to 4:30 p.m. in the Associate and George M. Ewing conference rooms at the Constellation Center for Health and Healing, 350 Parrish St., Canandaigua.
The free program, which meets the first Wednesday of each month, will address questions about preparing for this elective surgery. Meetings cover topics such as getting your home ready, beginning an exercise program and more. Nancy Buerman, clinical coordinator of physical therapy at Thompson Health, facilitates this program. CSA Shares still available with the UUCC CSA in Canandaigua.
Since 2004 the UUCC CSA at the Unitarian Church at 3024 Cooley Rd. has been offering Canandaigua area residents certified organic, locally grown vegetables, fruits and herbs through their Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program. The 23 week season starts Monday June 2 and runs through November 3. Three share sizes are offered: micro (4 items/week), small (7 items/week) and large (11 items/week). Members pick up their shares at the church on Monday evenings from 5:15 to 7:00pm.
Micro shares are $320 for the season, small shares are $505 and large shares are $655. Through the generosity of our members we also offer reduced price shares for individuals and families.on a limited income.

Classical Charter School of the Finger Lakes
The founding members of The Classical Charter School of the Finger Lakes (as per advice from SUNY) have withdrawn the application so that we can amend and resubmit. We are continuing on the path to make the charter school a reality and are looking for volunteers to help in this endeavor. We are also looking for an individual with instructional leadership and/or school administration experience to join our founding group.
