March 18, 2013 Canandaigua Connected ENewsletter
I suddenly noticed, right before my very eyes, that my kids are growing up. They (age 8, 10, and 12) crave sleepovers with friends and other "I have my own life" activities. What's a mom to do? I think it is time to start having date nights with each one individually. They love the mall and I hate it so they can pick their next favorite thing to do and we'll do it. I've never been the overbearing mom type because (truthfully) I crave my own 'I have my own life" stuff, too. I'm just the one who gave them life and nurturing so they can give to the world in their own unique way. I can just watch and smile - but the date thing is starting this spring!
Blue skies, Donna Bennett
