Winter Preschool Program Registration
It's time to sign up for the winter sessions of programs for preschoolers that begin in January. Registration is required for the following: Time for Twos (for 2 year olds and parent or caregiver), Storytime (for 3-5 year olds), and Mother Goose Time (for 6-24 month olds and parent or caregiver). What is Freedom Camp?
Freedom Camp is a one day camp during school vacations (first one is Dec 30th) for current 3rd-7th graders.  No more GED: FLCC offers classes for new high school equivalency test FLCC will hold a free two-week program in January to help adults prepare for the new state high school equivalency test. Classes run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday, Jan. 6 to 16, at three locations: the main campus in Canandaigua, the Geneva Campus Center, and the Wayne County Campus Center in Newark. Classes are free to adults and out-of-school youths age 17 or older. Materials are provided. The program prepares students for the new version of the high school equivalency exam, now called the Test Assessing Secondary Completion. It replaces the exam for the former general equivalency diploma, or GED. "The new Common Core standards have affected not only elementary and secondary schools but high school equivalency programs as well," said Kathleen Guy, FLCC's adult basic education coordinator. Joint Replacement Information Offered
The Thompson Health Total Joint Replacement Group Education Program addresses questions about how to prepare for this type of elective surgery.
Held monthly, the free program will next be offered on Wednesday, Jan. 8, from 3 to 4:30 p.m. in the Constellation Center for Health and Healing at Thompson Hospital, 350 Parrish St. For more information, call (585) 396-6050.

Gentle Yoga Series Begins Soon
Thompson Health will host an eight-week series of Gentle Yoga classes on Wednesdays, beginning Jan. 15 and ending March 5.
The classes are led by Rick Lynch of the Finger Lakes Yoga Center and are from noon to 1:15 p.m. in the lower level of Thompson Hospital, 350 Parrish St.
