Freedom Camp hits Canandaigua Dec 30th!

What is Freedom Camp?
Freedom Camp is a one day camp during school vacations (first one is Dec 30th) for current 3rd-7th graders. We provide a fun patriotic environment for your kids to learn about our Founding Fathers, English (grammar fundamentals), math, penmanship (yes, the lost art is being resurrected), and much more! FLCC Choral Groups to give Holiday Concerts - Dec 14 & 15! The Finger Lakes Chorale will team up with two other choral groups to present holiday concerts ending with the rousing "Hallelujah" chorus from Handel's "Messiah" Dec 14/15. Show times for "A Holiday Mélange" are 7 p.m. Sat Dec. 14, and 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, in the auditorium at the FLCC main campus, 3325 Marvin Sands Dr., Canandaigua. Both concerts are free and open to the public; donations will be accepted for the Dr. A. John Walker Music Award for FLCC music and music recording students. The Finger Lakes Chorale is an 80-member chorus directed by FLCC adjunct music professor Dennis Maxfield. Also performing are the College Singers, a student group directed by Ines Draskovic, FLCC assistant professor of music, and the Finger Lakes Camerata, a 24-member group also directed by Maxfield.

Bereavement Support Group Meets Dec. 10
Thompson Health hosts a monthly Bereavement Support Group, open to anyone who has experienced a loss due to death. This month's meeting will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 10, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the Sands Cancer Center, 360 Parrish St. in Canandaigua. The group is facilitated by Sue Underhill, RN, the advanced illness care coordinator for the VA Medical Center, and Susan Bonanni, who is a social worker and the coordinator of the Sands Cancer Center.

Dec. 20 Support Group Focuses on Caregivers
A monthly support group offered for caregivers will be held on Fri, Dec 20, 10-1:30 a.m. at the Sands Cancer Center, 360 Parrish St., Canandaigua. The Caregivers Support Group provides support for people caring for or about a family member who is seriously or chronically ill. Susan Short, coordinator of Bereavement & Support Services for Lifetime Care, facilitates the group. There is no charge to attend. GCCC Presents Holiday Ice Skating Show-
On Saturday, December 14th!
Santa Claus and Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer will lace up their skates for Lighting Up the Holidays: A Spotlight Show on Ice at The Greater Canandaigua Civic Center. In true holiday spirit the proceeds will fund the formation of a figure skating club at GCCC.
The show begins at 6:00pm and features approximately 40 skaters of all ages and abilities entertaining the entire family.
All of the performances are guaranteed to move you to tears, laughter or to join in the singing of familiar holiday favorites. There are traditions and costumes from around the world. General admission $6
There will be an benefit open skate after the show the cost $4.
