Light Up the Season in Recognition of Loved Ones
Designate a light in memory of or in honor of a loved one this year on the Thompson Guild's Tree of Lights, located just outside the main entrance to Thompson Hospital at 350 Parrish St. The tree-lighting ceremony Mon, Dec. 2, 7pm, is open to the public. Refreshments will be served indoors, where both the Canandaigua Fifth-Grade Chorus and the Thompson Toners will perform. Both Santa Claus and Thompson Bear will be present, too. To designate a light on the tree, please make $5 checks payable to the Thompson Guild and mail to: Tree of Lights, Thompson Guild, 350 Parrish St., Canandaigua, NY 14424. Notification of the gift is mailed to the recipient of your kindness, along with an invitation to attend the lighting ceremony. Proceeds benefit the Guild's programs within the health system and community.

Art and theatre at FLCC this week
An exhibit opening Nov. 21 at Finger Lakes Community College will feature the art, poetry and music of alumnus Rand Darrrow, who has explored the themes and images of Slavic fairy tales.
"Alumni Biennial Exhibition: The Art, Music and Poetry of Rand Darrow," begins with an artist talk Thursday, Nov. 21, from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Williams-Insalaco Gallery 34 on the first floor of the main campus, 3325 Marvin Sands Drive, Canandaigua. A reception sponsored by the FLCC Foundation follows from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Both are free and open to the public.

Also this week, FLCC students will present three performances of "The Glass Menagerie," the Tennessee Williams drama that follows the trials of a Depression-era family, on Nov. 21, 22 and 23. Shows will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 21 and Friday, Nov. 22 and at 2 p.m. Saturday Nov. 23. The performances will be held in the main campus auditorium. Tickets will be $5 for students and seniors and $8 for general admission at the box office just before each show.
