Computer Q&A. Tue. Oct. 1 at 6p. Bring your computer questions, issues, and problems to this hour-and-a-half Q&A session with Adult Services Librarian Ron Kirsop. Registration required.
Mother Goose Time. Fri. Oct. 4. Walkers - 10:15a, Pre-Walkers - 11a. An early literacy program of nursery rhymes, songs, fingerplays, and short stories for babies and toddlers 6 - 24 months old. Registration required.
Middle School Lego Club. Sat. Oct. 5 at 2p. Love Lego? Take on complex tasks and challenges with fellow fans in this newly formed club for grades 5-8. We're hoping to make this into a monthly library program! Registration required.
Interactive Cards with Carol Henshaw. Mon. Oct. 2 at 6:30p. Learn to make these two playful greeting cards that will delight your friends. A Flip-Up Card is especially perfect for birthdays but can be easily adapted to any event. The Pop-Up Slider card reveals a message hidden inside. We won't decorate them in class but you will take home samples of each and instructions to make many more. Some basic paper crafting experience is helpful. This is an Adult program. Registration required.
Friends Basket Raffle. The last basket raffle of 2013 will be on display from October 24-November 21, 2013. This basket will be valued at more than $700. You can win several gift certificates, a Vera Bradley large tote, wine, oils & vinegars, and much more. A complete list of items will be available on October 24th and in next month's newsletter.

Calling all Angels!
Nov 2013 marks the 7th annual Canandaigua Christkindl Market. Each year a Christkindl Angel, age 13-16, is selected from an Ontario County school district. The Christkindl Angel will greet guests at our European-Inspired Christkindl Market, Nov 8th-10th, under large heated tents and participate in promotional activities during 2014.

The first annual NewYork State of Mind Awards was a grand success! Congratulations to all the honorees, thank you for devoting yourselves to the promotion of NYS, and thanks to all who attended the event.

Free Varicose Vein Consultations Oct. 8
Thompson Hospital's Diagnostic Imaging Department will hold free varicose vein consultations on Tuesday, Oct. 8, from 4 to 8 p.m.
These consultations, with vein specialist Dr. David E. Lee, will be held by appointment only, with a limited number of appointments available. To make an appointment, call the Diagnostic Imaging Department at Thompson at (585) 396-6701.
Through advanced technology, Lee and Thompson's other vein specialists can rid patients of the self-consciousness and discomfort that often accompany varicose and spider veins. The non-surgical procedure involved takes approximately one hour, has minimal recovery time and is covered by most insurances. For more info, click here!
Bereavement Support Group Meets Soon
Thompson Health hosts a monthly Bereavement Support Group and its next meeting is Tuesday, Oct. 8, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at the Sands Cancer Center, 360 Parrish St. in Canandaigua.
This group is open to anyone who has experienced a loss due to death. It is facilitated by Sue Underhill, RN, the advanced illness care coordinator for the VA Medical Center and Susan Bonanni, social worker and coordinator of the Sands Cancer Center.

St. John's Episcopal Church (Canandaigua) will be holding its second annual "3-T Silent Auction" on Saturday, October 5 from 4 - 7 p.m. at the church. Tickets are $5 in advance and $8 at the door and include admission, wine and cheese, entertainment, and access to all items up for auction and raffle. HomeSpun series is back at FLCC!
Two area bands will perform in Stage 14 at Finger Lakes Community College on Wed, Oct. 2, as part of the ongoing HomeSpun artist series.
A trio of musicians from Rochester called The Moho Collective will pair with the Canandaigua jazz funk ensemble Whizzy's Canvas for the 7 p.m. event on the main campus, 3325 Marvin Sands Drive, Canandaigua. The event is open to students, college employees and community members. Entry is $2 or free with an FLCC ID.
The Moho Collective is comprised of drummer Ryan Barclay, guitarist Kurt Johnson and bassist Justin Rister '06. It's considered an experimental act influenced by jazz, funk, rock, blues and world music.
Whizzy's Canvas, meanwhile, is made of up FLCC students Ian Blackwood and John Meeske and Zach Bassage '13. Blackwood is the lead vocalist and plays an array of instruments including the banjo, violin, guitar and bass. Bassage is a guitarist and bassist, and Meeske is the drummer. More info here!
