Where did August go? If your life has been so busy that August slipped right by you then you are not alone. This is a busy month with back to school demands and settling into new schedules for everyone from the pets to the humans. Even if you didn't have the responsibilities of getting someone off to school, your schedule, moods and focus has been affected with school zones, traffic, over-crowded stores and restaurants, bombardment of advertising for school supplies and clothes, etc.
The start of school is not the only external event that impacts our choices, moods, possibilities, etc. How many other situations have the potential to hijack your peace, happiness, energy and focus?
What's the solution to getting back on track in the midst of external imposition, events or situations? The main article below expands on creating and sustaining a plan to be proactive in the design of your life from busy to balanced.
As always, I am available to partner with you in bridging the gap between your current reality and your deepest desires to live a life you love. Check out the offers in the left hand column or complete a contact form on the main page of my webpage and I will contact you promptly. http://www.empoweringpotential.com/You can also visit the tools/resources page of my website for self-study options. http://www.empoweringpotential.com/tools.html

Are You Caught Up In Busy?
_____________________________________________ 6 Steps to release, refocus and redirect your energy and attention from Busy to Balanced
There is no doubt on any given day you can get a lot done. That is not the issue. The issue is how much of that are you on automatic pilot. Whether you can't remember what you did or don't feel as though you accomplished anything of importance, you are caught up in a rut and pattern. Until you change the pattern by identifying the elements that keep the pattern in place, it is unlikely that things will be different.
Awareness is the beginning key to change. I have outlined a 6 step process that you can implement to increase your effectiveness, productivity and sense of fulfillment in the process. In the end, you will feel more equipped to design and create more of what you want and less of what you don't want. It is not necessary to lose yourself in the midst of life situations. By laying a foundation of indicators and actions, you will no longer have to suffer or struggle in making choices or feeling unequipped to handle whatever comes up.
1.) Become an observer. Imagine that you are a battery and your energy and capacity to fulfill all of your promises, commitments and responsibilities could be measured in percentage. Where are you on the scale of 0% to 100% in feeling equipped to make it all happen or get it all done?
2.) Identify the thoughts, words and actions that have you feel depleted or diminished. How much energy is drained when your attention is focused on what is not working? Whatever you focus on will be magnified.
3.) Identify what you would like to be different. Block time to get clear of your desired results. Without judgement, write down what is most important to you being, doing or having in all areas of your life. Be willing to release the need to be liked, get approval or permission to have the life you want. This is YOUR deepest longings and desires.
4.) What shifts or redirection of thoughts, words and actions would support the new or enhanced results? What would you have to be willing to let go of, release, surrender or accept to be more balanced and available to take responsibility for what you say is important? How are you taking too much responsibility for others and not enough responsibility for yourself?
5.) Create rituals, practices and habits in alignment with what you say you want. Whether internal thoughts or external actions, there are limitless choices that can start the release, refocus and redirection of attention and energy to getting more of what you want.
6.) When you find yourself off track or stuck, rinse and repeat. As you practice being a better observer, you will be more conscious and in tune to when you are caught up in busy vs. productive or effective. The good news is you won't stay there as long if you are willing to monitor and manage your choices in thought, word and action.
