The Twelve Hours of Book Signing

Dialogue: Create Dialogue that Drives the Story

Randall Reneau's latest novel, Diamond Fields, has won first place (fiction) and was also the grand prize winner in Five Star Publications' 2013 Royal Dragonfly Book Awards. Mr. Reneau's debut novel, Deadly Lode, won the Richard Boes Award for best debut novel written by a veteran. His third novel in the Trace Brandon series, Ruby Silver, will be available in January 2014.

Novel Re-Vision: Editing Your Manuscript for Story   

Saturdays, January 11 - March 8

10:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

 

Do you have a completed draft novel? Wondering what to do next? This class walks writers through the novel revision process. In-class exercises and critiques help students recognize the sections of their manuscripts that convey story and those that don't. During the course students will compile a list of edits necessary to revise their novel. Prerequisite: a completed draft novel. Fee: $195.00

Follow the Story

The Writer's Workshop will offer an 8-session winter writing class entitled Follow the Story. This class explores the genres of fiction and nonfiction, introducing you to a wonderfully diverse mix of writing. What are the "rules" and conventions of each genre? You'll also learn essential techniques of narrative writing. The course will run January 8 to February 19 on Wednesday evenings (Jan. 8, 22, 29, Feb. 5, 12, 19) and two Monday evenings, (Jan. 13, 27) from 7 to 9 p.m. in Room 221 of the Good Shepherd Center in Wallingford (4649 Sunnyside Ave. N.)
