JUNE DRAWING: FIRST 20 PAGES
Caroline Tolley, Freelance Editor, and former Executive Editor of Pocket Books (a division of Simon & Schuster), has offered to edit the first 20 pages of one lucky PNWA member's novel!
To enter the drawing:
1. All entrants must be current PNWA members.
CLICK HERE TO JOIN OR RENEW
2. Email ONLY the first 20 pages of your novel as an attached Word .doc file to pnwa@pnwa.org. Subject line: "FIRST 20 PAGES"
3. At the end of the month (June), we will randomly select ONE entrant and send his or her first 20 pages along to Caroline, who will then provide a content/developmental evaluation that we will send back to the winner.
Caroline Tolley is a twenty-year veteran of book publishing (New York publishing house and currently freelance), specializing in content editing for all genres of popular fiction for women. In these rapidly-changing times for publishing, Caroline has useful insights about how the editing world has changed, and what aspiring authors should keep in mind as they work to make their manuscripts the best they can be.
Caroline uses a broad canvas developmental and content approach. Is there a beginning, a middle and an end to the plot, or story arc? Do the cast have character profiles? Is it clear which characters should have a point of view? Is the timeline clear? Are the sub-plots or threads pulled through to the end?
