Many of our neighbors, classmates and co-workers struggle with real issues - homelessness, hunger and poverty - on a daily basis.
Our community has been blessed in many ways, but not everyone is able to reap the rewards. Our educational system is among the best in the country, but roughly 35 to 40 percent of children at high poverty schools are not reading at their proficiency level making them three times more likely to drop out of high school. Our economy is booming and jobs are abundant, yet the cost of living has seen a dramatic rise in recent years and affordable housing is scarce. Just last year, over 32,000 nights of shelter were provided locally.
These problems are bigger than one person or organization. Providing solutions to these issues will take a collaborative, proactive, community-wide approach. Working together, we can leverage our good fortune to prevent recurring needs, create lasting solutions, and ensure opportunities for all.
Join us - GIVE. ADVOCATE. VOLUNTEER. Be part of the solution, LIVE UNITED. Help us raise $2 million dollars to meet the growing needs in our community.
