Welcome to the November issue of the Irbit Informer.
Thanksgiving holidays are just around the corner here in the States and what better opportunity for us to thank all of you, no matter what part of the world, for your support and enthusiasm in keeping Ural going ever so strong. There's nothing more rewarding for our small crew than spotting a Ural going down the street or getting an email with a word of encouragement or seeing some incredible ride reports, photos and videos of your Ural adventures posted on the web. We appreciate your suggestions and even critiques (sometimes :)) - it helps us grow and tells us that you care. So to all of you present and future Uralistas thank you and our best wishes for the upcoming holiday season!
It's now a tradition for us to introduce our annual limited edition bikes right around this time of the year... You may have seen the posts and read the blog, and some of you (!) have already put the deposits down for the Ural YAMAL - this year's Limited Edition. As usual we make the official announcement and launch the first photos of the LE here in the Irbit Informer. Read on for details - all we'll say here is that Yamal has probably been the most fun Limited Edition project that we've ever put together ... a one of a kind motorcycle with teeth and an oar! :-)

The last but not the least, we're very happy to report that IMWA is still on track to sell close to 600 units this year getting very close to our all-time high of 619 units, which we sold in 2006. Now... with everyone rushing to the dealers' doors this holiday season, who knows we might even break this very tempting record. :-)

Available Now: Introducing the 2012 Yamal Limited Edition!
Snow, and ice-and better yet-permafrost as far as the eyes can see. They call it the Yamal Peninsula, which translates as the end of the Earth. A peninsula in Russia, which is known for being nothing short of inhospitable, barren, and perpetually frozen. What a perfect namesake then for a Russian icebreaker.
These ships spend their days forging paths through the impasse that is the frozen Arctic Ocean, just north of Siberia. Heavy, rugged, and focused intently on their mission, these boats are truly one of a kind. When we chose our inspiration for this year's limited edition, we struck upon the brilliance of the Yamal.
A vehicle designed to conquer the impasse, a vehicle that may not always make sense, but one which-when you speak to the right people-is absolutely necessary. Our bikes are much like this strange breed of sea-going vessel: durable, dependable, and able to conquer what typical motorcycles cannot conquer.
Our limited edition Yamal is spec'd with its own double hull like the boat: we've weather proofed the lower portion of the sidecar body and the fenders for additional protection.
We painted it flat orange-the Yamal can be spotted anywhere. And to defeat the long nights as you travel from waypoint to waypoint, we included additional lighting. Knobby spare tire, and hand guards round out the mission capability of the Yamal. An impasse may come in other shapes and sizes beyond weather and topography, so our Yamal also includes an oar-which can double as a defensive tool or your last hope of survival on thin ice...you never know. Finally, the sea-going Yamal is unforgettable with its menacing teeth. We thought teeth made absolute sense for Ural. And yes, they come with the bike. Mr. Cob's Down Under Adventure

Our famous Ural ambassador Mr. Cob recently got the opportunity expand his Ural experiences to include riding in Australia. With the help of a fellow ADV rider, Jock Adams and Jon Taylor our Australian Ural importer (see photo below), Mr. Cob spent a month down under.
 
As always he tirelessly recorded his experiences and took some awesome photographs to boot.

Flying to LA with Scott Toepfer
Click on the photo to watch the video on our blog We recently lent mega-awesome photographer Scott Toepfer one our flat black Ural T s for a trip to LA from Oakland California. He took a buddy and delivered the bike to Iron and Resin-more on that later-after a few days of riding down the coast. Almost immediately upon him getting to Los Angeles, we were treated to a nice note in our email and cool video recapping the first part of what will hopefully be a great friendship.
