The next deadline for Media Fund applications is Friday, July 10, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. HST. This call is for R&D funding applications only. To learn more about applying for R&D funds, please visit our R&D Funding page.

The Media Fund is PIC's standing funding initiative, which provides funds for single non-fiction programs for three critical phases of production: Research and Development (R&D), Production and Completion. Projects applying to Media Fund must be intended for national public television broadcast and therefore must be able to enter into a license agreement - this is not a grant.

Rapanui producer Sergio Mata'u Rapu (Eating up Easter, R&D and Production funding) reports back on his experiences at the 2015 PBS Annual Meeting, held May 11-13 in Austin, Texas. Read Sergio's report here.

Get a peek at the making of The Fishing Club, PIC's contribution to the 2015 PBS Online Film Festival! This short film, featuring Robert Kekaula and Kealiʻi Reichel (Language Matters with Bob Holman) in his acting debut, is featured in this year's festival along with 24 other diverse and entertaining short films. Please watch the film, and place your vote - you can vote once per day, so please vote as often as possible through July 17th. The film with the most votes will win the PBS Online Film Festival Audience Award!

We are now seeking submissions for Pacific Heartbeat Season 5, which will be broadcast during the 2016 season. Pacific Heartbeat is a nationally distributed public television series produced by PIC in partnership with PBS Hawaii, and is presented and distributed by Boston-based American Public Television. It is an unprecedented collection of critically acclaimed documentaries centered on the Pacific Islander experience. If you'd like to submit your film for consideration, please review our Get Funded section and learn more about Pacific Heartbeat programming needs, eligibility requirements, and instructions on how to apply. Deadline to submit for the 2016 season is August 7, 2015
