America by the Numbers: Island of Warriors
Behind Every Number, There's a Story
America by the Numbers with Maria Hinojosa is a new PBS documentary series - the first to focus on the dramatic demographic shifts currently taking place in the U.S. Award-winning news anchor and reporter Hinojosa and crew traveled to Guam in 2013 and worked with PIC to gather stories from some of the U.S.'s most underserved veterans.

Pacific Islanders serve in the U.S. military in disproportionally high numbers and have suffered the highest casualty rates in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. This half hour episode visits Guam to speak with some of the island's veterans and explores why Guam's returning veterans say they can't get the healthcare they need.

Episode 102: Island of Warriors premieres on The WORLD Channel on Thursday, October 9 at 9:00 p.m. ET and on PBS on Saturday/Sunday October 11/12. Please check local listings for times.

Audience Engagement: The Namesake Project
Now that films and filmmakers have the capability of being constantly connected with their audience, engagement is not something that is limited to after the release of your film. In fact, it is almost always an advantage to start engaging your audience as soon as you can. Producer Christen Hepuakoa Marquez guides us through five categories of engagement - some that can be utilized through nearly any phase of your film's life from development through distribution.
