Reflections on the 2014 PBS Annual Meeting
We asked veteran Hawaiian PIC-funded producer Heather Haunani Giugni (Family Ingredients, One Voice) and PIC Board member Donne Dawson (Hawaiʻi State Film Commissioner) to reflect on this year's PBS Annual Meeting in San Francisco. Read Heather and Donne's posts here.

Changes to PIC's Media Fund Call Coming Soon

As we continue to look for new ways to support our filmmaking community, we are planning to make a few critical changes to the timeline of the Media Fund Call starting in early October. Please keep a look out for our announcement with details in our next newsletter, and we will also update our website by early September.

PIC submitted two films from the Film Raro project to this year's festival:
Dog Save the Queen and Islands. Please WATCH, VOTE and then SHARE your favorites by July 31st. Learn more.

On May 10, 2014, over 2,000 photos and films were submitted by people worldwide for A Day in the Life of Asian Pacific America. Check out the digital exhibition here

The mission of Pacific Islanders in Communications (PIC) is to support, advance, and develop Pacific Island media content and talent that results in a deeper understanding of Pacific Island history, culture, and contemporary challenges.

Established in Honolulu in 1991 as a national nonprofit media arts corporation, PIC is a member of the National Minority Consortia, which collectively addresses the need for programming that reflects America's growing ethnic and cultural diversity.
