November 4 General Election

The Michigan General Election will be held on November 4. The ballot includes elections for Governor, US Senator, US Representative, State Senator, State Representative and County Commissioner. Elections for judges and university trustees are also included Locally, a partial term for Spring Lake Township Trustee is included, as well as terms for school board members.

There are also several proposals on the ballot:
  • State Proposal 14-1 and 14-2, related to wolf hunting
  • Ottawa County Road Improvement millage
  • Harbor Transit millage
  • Spring Lake Public Schools voters only have an operating millage renewal (excluding principal residence and other exempt property)

Polls will be open from 7am to 8pm. If you are unable to make it to the polls, or if you expect to be out of town, you may request an absentee ballot. Absentee ballots must be requested by mail no later than Saturday, November 1, or in person no later than Monday, November 3 at 4pm. All absentee ballots must be returned to Township Hall by 8pm on November 4. Call Clerk Carolyn Boersma at 616-844-2101 if you have questions.
