Property Check Program
The Ottawa County Sheriff's Office Spring Lake Branch has implemented a property check program. A sheriff's deputy will physically check your home while you are away to ensure it is secure during your absence.
Any resident that will be out of the area may use the program, whether you are leaving for a short time or if you will be gone for several months.
A form is available at Township Hall. Please complete the form at least a week prior to your departure.

Lubbers Cup Regatta - Attention all Purdue University and/or University of Illinois fans, alumni and students
The Lubbers Cup Regatta will be held on Spring Lake the weekend of April 11, 12 and 13. Purdue and Illinois men's and women's rowing teams will be competing. At both universities, rowing is a club sport. This means there is little financial support from the university, and the rowers have to raise money for travel.
Spring Lake Public Schools administration has very generously offered to have both teams stay overnight Friday and Saturday nights in their middle school gym (with available mats) and use their shower facilities for a total cost of $350. This is a huge savings to the teams, given how much it would cost to house well over 150 athletes in local hotels.
Two requests:
1. Please consider donating money to help pay the $350 housing costs. Spring Lake Township Supervisor John Nash is coordinating this effort - contact him at 616.844.2100 or jnash@springlaketwp.org.
2. Plan on attending the event to cheer on your respective schools. Rowing is a very exciting event to watch, there is no admission fee charged, and there are only a very few locations around the midwest to watch these athletes compete. Additionally, rowers are usually excellent students and excellent campus citizens.

Thanks for keeping fire hydrants clear!
Thank you for all your help in keeping the fire hydrants clear this winter. With the warmer and rainier weather, the snow has turned to chunks of ice. It would be very time consuming to shovel out the fire hydrants before fighting a fire, so all the shoveling you have done has made it much easier on the firefighters. Thanks for helping keep the community safer! The house you save may be your neighbor's, or yours.
