Tax Exemption Programs for Disabled VeteransThe State of Michigan provides programs for disabled veterans which exempt them from the collection of property taxes. The exemption is provided on property used and owned as a homestead by a disabled veteran who meets certain conditions. An affidavit must be filed each year. Academic Planning for Gifted/Talented ChildrenThe Program for Academically Talented at Hope College is inviting parents of gifted and talented elementary and middle school children (grades 3-7) to a discussion on academic planning tools and finding the "right fit" for your child's educational success. The program will discuss the PATH program, but will also include information about testing and motivation for your child. Parents of students from area schools as well as home school parents are invited.

Savvy Caregiver Class
Senior Resources will be offering The Savvy Caregiver program, a free six-week session for caregivers. This program has been specifically developed for families dealing wit dementia or memory loss. Free respite care can be arranged. Each week a class will provide caregivers lessons on coping with dementia, managing caregiving, and creating contented involvement.
