The 4th floor atrium of the Agricultural Sciences Building was officially named the Ambassador Ardeshir Zahedi Atrium last week, in honor of one of the university's most distinguished alumni. Come take a look to learn more about the amazing life of this graduate of the animal science department who built a diplomatic career over decades that has shaped our modern world.

Nominations for the 2015 E.G. Peterson Extension Award, Spirit of Extension Award and the Extension Innovator Award (new this year) must be electronically submitted to Tammy Firth by 4 p.m. on Jan. 16. Click here to see a full description of the awards, submission procedures, list of past recipients and deadline information. There is a cash award for recipients, and self-nominations are acceptable.  

Applications are being accepted for the Western Extension Directors Association (WEDA) 2015 Awards of Excellence. Applications are due to WEDA by 5 p.m. on March 9. Click here for details.

The purpose of the awards is to recognize Extension outreach education programming that has achieved outstanding accomplishments, results and impacts in addressing contemporary issues in one or more of the 13 Western states and Pacific Island U.S. Territories. The Awards of Excellence are given annually to individuals or multi-discipline teams for single state or multi-state programs. Contact Kevin Kesler with questions.
