Extension Professor Receives Distinguished Service Award
  • Heidi LeBlanc, Utah State University Extension professor and Food $ense (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education or SNAP-Ed) director, recently received the National Extension Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (NEAFCS) Distinguished Service Award. The national award, presented in Lexington, Kentucky, is the highest award given by the NEAFCS and recognizes members for leadership, educational program efforts and professional development. What Causes the Leaves to Change Color?
  • Once again the summer season comes to an end and crisp autumn days are upon us. Temperatures drop, the days get shorter and vibrant colors quickly spread across mountains and valleys as trees prepare for long nights and frosty temperatures. Color pigments found in leaves differ among plant species and can vary from year to year. Click here to read the story.

  • The Food Distribution Research Society annual conference - Monday, Nov. 3, through Wednesday, Nov. 5, Salt Lake City, "The Role of Local Food Sourcing and Destination Image in Enhancing Economic Development." The conference provides the opportunity to learn from national and local speakers, network and explore sights and outdoor and culinary opportunities of Salt Lake City. Speakers are from private industry, government agencies and academics.
