Members Only Trip to San Francisco
|
There are still a few spaces in our Members Only trip to San Francisco, and it's a great time to become a member so you can participate in this year's other events for our members. The trip will be September 10-13, 2014 and we will visit the Japanese Tea Garden, Muir Woods, Fisherman's Wharf, Filoli Gardens and more. We also will be taking a sunset bay cruise under the Golden Gate Bridge, and making a stop at the quaint town of Half Moon Bay.
The tour will cost $1,090 (double occupancy) which will include airfare, hotel, motor coach, entrance fees and tickets to activities, and some meals. Please contact Susan Jones at the Ogden Botanical Gardens (801) 399-8181 if you have any questions or need more information.

Mike Pace will be traveling across the Wasatch Front to teach fruit tree grafting in this hands-on, 2-hour workshop. Each guest can select from various heirloom and modern-day apple varieties, or bring your own apple scion wood to graft with. Additional rootstocks and scion wood may be purchased for an additional fee. Participants will take home two grafted apple trees as part of the registration fee. Pre-registration is required and space is limited.

 Save the dates for family fun! The USU Botanical Center will be hosting Baby Animal Days May 9 and 10. Come meet bunnies, ducklings, lambs, piglets, baby llamas, miniature horses and more! Activities will include will include horse rides, sheep shearing demos, food vendors, face painting, miniature train rides, bouncy houses, a climbing wall, and new this year, a Talented Talons show that featuring 3 raptors from the Ogden Nature Center.
Families and individuals can come visit Baby Animal Days on Friday, May 9, from 2 - 8 pm. and Saturday, May 10, from 10 am - 6 pm. For more information, or to buy tickets, click here. |

All About Bees

Monday, April 28, 6:30 pm- 8 pm
Explore the world of bees and how to raise and care for them with an expert beekeeper. Learn why pollinators are important for gardens and make a bee craft to take home with you. Cost is $10 per family (up to 6 members) or $3 per person. Click here to register.

All About Soils
Learn how to prepare and build your soil for more effortless gardening success. This class is for beginners and experienced gardeners. Participants will go home with a soil amendment to get started. Click here to register. Cost: $14 members, $19 public

Annual Bed Design
Yes, there is a method to the madness and you can learn to design your annual flower beds like a pro. Susan Jones, garden manager of the Ogden Botanical Gardens, will be teaching on how to plan for color and interest all season long with easy-to-follow steps. Make your flower beds the envy of the whole neighborhood, and just in time for spring planting! There will be two locations for this class from which to choose from.
