Volunteer at The Gardens
Volunteers are what keep the great programs at the USU Botanical Center running. Whether it's helping out in the gardens, assisting with special events, guiding great field trips for children or other activities, our volunteers have fun and make great contributions to the community. "Spring Thaw" Pruning Days

Welcome the spring by learning from the experts how to prune your fruit trees, berries and ornamental plants. Starting at 9 am, we will have hour-long workshops demonstrating proper pruning techniques for the woody plants in your landscape. Come for one or all three. It's all free and no registration is required. Join us at the  USU Botanical Center on Saturday, March 8 or at the Ogden Botanical Gardens on Saturday, March 15. Each garden has unique plants so check the website for details. 

Explore the Garden Family Night: 
Family Tai Chi
Monday, March 24, 6:30 pm- 8 pm
Bring the whole family to the USUBC Wetland Discovery Point and learn the benefits of Tai Chi. Designed to increase flexibility and balance, Tai Chi will help your whole family find inner peace. Cost is $10 per family (up to 6 members) or $3 per person. Click here to register.

Proper Pruning Practices

Nothing else in the gardening/landscape realm strikes more fear in the hearts of homeowners than pruning. This three-part workshop series will offer hands-on training to help empower homeowners with a sound understanding of proper pruning practices for trees, shrubs, ornamental grasses, grapes, berries and a range of landscape plants .Must register for the entire series. High Tunnel Building Workshop

In this hands-on workshop, we will learn to build a 42' x 14' high tunnel greenhouse. High tunnels create a protected environment for plants which allows for additional production time and higher quality plants. This high tunnel design is ideal for fresh market farmers or backyard hobbyists. Click here to register.

Landscape Design Series

In this five-part series, learn the basics of landscape design such as how to draw, design, and even choose the right plant material for your own landscape plan. A private consultation with course instructors to review your plan will be given on the last day of the course. Basic materials are included. Click here to register. - space is limited.
