April 8 is an important date -- it marks the end of the much-loved Windows XP operating system support. Click here to see.
What this means:
- The bad guys will come swooping in with malware and viruses.
- USU will likely ask you to take any XP computer off line. (If you have an XP machine running equipment and it is never connected to the internet, there is no problem).
USU Software licensing offers Windows 7 for free download for any USU- registered computer. This includes counties. If you are running an older, slower computer on XP, switching to Windows 7 is pretty time consuming but there are tutorials to walk you through it. We are also trying to arrange to have the campus Help Desk do these updates during annual conference.
