Welcome New Employee

Welcome to Helen Muntz as Extension horticulture educator intern for Cache County. A graduate from the U of U with a bachelor's degree in biology, she is currently working on a master's degree in agriculture Extension and education at USU. Helen has worked in horticulture for 10 years as a research assistant at USU's Greenville Farm and for local nurseries. She also worked in Monument Valley with a Navajo school where she designed and taught a summer program for students to create a demonstration garden, integrating education on the traditional Navajo uses of native plants. Helen is interested in the effects of influence from culture, community and heritage on education. She is excited to be involved in Extension and looks forward to judging at the county fair and working with master gardeners. She was raised in St. Louis and moved to Utah shortly after high school and has lived in Logan since 2005. She enjoys her home, cultivating her yard and garden with her husband and running a personal greenhouse.
