USUBC Baby Animal Days

The USU Botanical Center hosts its Second Annual Baby Animal Days next weekend! Baby Animal Days is a fundraiser for our gardens and 4-H Youth Educational programs. Last year more than 8,500 people attended, making the event a great success!  Come meet ducklings, chicks, bunnies, kids, piglets, calves, baby llamas, miniature horses, and new this year, baby reptiles! Other activities will include horse rides, sheep shearing demos, food vendors, face painting, miniature train rides and a climbing wall. Families and individuals can come experience Baby Animal Days on Friday, May 10, from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, May 11, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. For more information, or to buy tickets, click here.

Members Only Annual Plant Sale
Now is a great time to become a member of the USU Botanical Center and Ogden Botanical Gardens! Coming up in a few weeks is one of the biggest highlights for many of our members, the Members Only Plant Sale. New and improved varieties that are sometimes hard to find are offered here and at a discount to our members. This is our only plant sale offered this year, so become a member now to discover new and different varieties of perennials and other plants for your landscape. Your membership supports development of our gardens and programs. To read about other benefits for becoming a member, or to sign up, click here
Testing Your Garden Soil
Whether you are preparing to plant fruits and vegetables for the season or expanding on your landscape plantings, let USU scientists test your soil! Regular testing helps guide development of more productive soils for farming, gardening and landscaping. Soil tests indicate whether plant nutrients are deficient and if so, what amounts are needed for maximum growth. When properly interpreted, soil tests promote more favorable conditions for productive and esthetically pleasing gardens and landscapes.
