Learn the basics in home cheese making from expert
Doug Manifold, from Beehive Cheese Company. The cheese making class will cover some history of cheese making, cheese types, we will make a batch of mozzarella and a batch of ricotta, and there will be some cheeses for people to sample. (Space is limited, but names will be taken for an additional class to be held on March 9).

This hands-on 5 part series teaches the basics of different propagation methods to help you start propagating and growing all of your favorite plants. Learn how to start plants from seeds, hardwood and softwood cuttings, budding and grafting plants, root divisions and layering. Materials provided include seeds, soils, containers, propagation tools, rootstocks and scion wood and other materials. Step in out of the cold and into the warmth of the USUBC Greenhouse and learn the science behind starting seeds indoors. Collect tips on soil mixes, light and heat requirements, watering and transplanting in this hands-on activity. Get the entire family involved in preparing for the garden.

Our garden staff and master gardeners demonstrate proper pruning practices to care for fruits trees, deciduous and evergreen trees, shrubs and roses on an hourly rotation. Instruction includes how to clean up perennials and ornamental grasses for spring.
