Tuesday, Feb. 5, 9 to 10 a.m. - IVC Videocast Seminar Series featuring Nicki Frey, Extension assistant professor, USU Extension/J.H. Berryman Institute, department of biology, Southern Utah University, who will present "Sage-grouse in Southern Utah: Implications for Future Management." Knowing best management practices can be difficult when working in areas of extreme distribution of sage-grouse, such as in southern Utah. New data has been collected on sage-grouse habitat use and movements and predator dynamics for Greater sage-grouse along the southern edge of their distribution. This information is critical to management agencies working to improve sage-grouse populations in southern Utah; however, it represents only the first step in the process of improving management practices for this population of Greater sage-grouse.
