IVC Videocast Series
  • Tuesday, Feb. 5, 9 to 10 a.m. - IVC Videocast Seminar Series featuring Nicki Frey, Extension assistant professor, USU Extension/J.H. Berryman Institute, department of biology, Southern Utah University, who will present "Sage-grouse in Southern Utah: Implications for Future Management." Knowing best management practices can be difficult when working in areas of extreme distribution of sage-grouse, such as in southern Utah. New data has been collected on sage-grouse habitat use and movements and predator dynamics for Greater sage-grouse along the southern edge of their distribution. This information is critical to management agencies working to improve sage-grouse populations in southern Utah; however, it represents only the first step in the process of improving management practices for this population of Greater sage-grouse. To register at least 24 hours in advance, click here.

New Extension Employee
  • Welcome to Josh Dallin as Extension educator and state 4-H program coordinator for the state 4-H office. Josh has a background of more than 20 years in 4-H where he has loved participating in livestock shows, livestock judging, county talent competitions, state contests and collegiate 4-H. His love for 4-H motivated him to obtain his B.S. degree in ADVS from USU and he is currently completing his M.S. degree from ASTE specializing in Extension. It has been Josh's dream to have a career in 4-H doing the things he knows and loves. He is thrilled to have the opportunity to promote 4-H and "Make the Best Better" throughout the state. He will be responsible for the state 4-H Junior Youth Conference, state 4-H contests, state fair, collegiate 4-H, state 4-H scholarships, and the event/program registration for 4-H Online. He and his wife, Brooke, own and run a small sheep operation, which helps provide lambs for more than 25 youth in their community 4-H Sheep Club. They have one son, Daxtin, who is 2 years old. Josh is excited to help in any way he can and can be reached at
