Baby, it's Cold (and Icy) Outside
In northern Utah removing snow and ice from walkways and other hardscapes often requires more than just skill with a shovel or snow blower. Chemicals are often used to clear away the ice that makes walkways and roads treacherous to navigate, but salts and other chemicals can damage vegetation, concrete and other hardscapes and cause water quality problems. Ideally, deicing products should be effective, economical and cause minimal damage. Take a look at various products and learn more about their effects (good and bad). Click here for more.
Poinsettia Care Beyond the Holidays

The poinsettias that brightened your home during the holidays don't have to be tossed out with the used wrapping paper. With proper care they can provide natural beauty in your home for months to come and can be added to your landscape this spring or even helped to bloom again next winter.
