Winding Down for Winter 

By the time the frost starts covering the lawn at the end of the season, many gardeners, like their plants, are spent. It is all too easy to ignore outdoor chores, but by accomplishing a few simple chores before those first flakes fly, you can ensure an easier start to next spring. USU Botanical Center Food Pantry Garden


The Utah State University Botanical Center's Food Pantry Garden, has yet another reason to celebrate success. Through the efforts of volunteers from school, church and community groups, as well as the employees of Lifetime Products who planted nearly the entire garden, an estimated 17,000 pounds of fresh produce was donated to local food pantries this year.

Garlic Planting for the Fall
It's time to plant garlic! Garlic is a hardy perennial that prefers full sun and fertile, well drained soils with plenty of organic matter. Best planting time for garlic is late September to the end of November.

It's time to pot amaryllis bulbs that will give you colorful Christmas and New Year blooms.
