Athletes are constantly demanding more from their bodies, and they often put pressure on very specific parts of their bodies without much consideration to rest and recovery.

3 x Olympian and Gold Medalist Deedee Trotter.  Trotter's
non-profit organization, Running 4 The People treated cancer
survivors to VIP treatment and loads of support.

USATFGA Safe Sport Training Session #2 (Address correction)
October 17, 2015 @ 2-4 pm.
Mundy's Mill High School located at 9652 Fayetteville Rd., Jonesboro 30238. Upon arrival, please enter through the main school entrance and report to lecture hall 127.
All USATF National Staff, Board Members, Youth Committee members, registered agents, coaches on the Coaches Registry, youth club coaches and youth club administrators are required to complete the USOC SafeSport course no later than December 31, 2015 to maintain active status in those roles.

The SafeSport course is an online training module put together by the USOC. The course covers fourteen lesson areas that include, but are not limited to, sexual, physical and emotional misconduct; local and overnight travel; bullying and harassment.
 
USATF will also be facilitating opportunities to take the USOC SafeSport course at select National events.  Details can be found at the Safesport site.

2015 Coaching Enhancement Grant

USATF-GEORGIA Coaches Advisory Committee is pleased to offer the following grants for Fall 2015 to assist coaches in an opportunity to enhance their professional growth. An application within the stated timeline is required of candidates. Please send completed application to Neil Young, Coaches Advisory Vice-Chair, corneliusyoung07@gmail.com. All applications will be presented to the grants sub-committee of the Coaches Advisory Committee. Selection and notification to recipients will be made within 10 days of the submission.

LEVEL 1 SCHOOL at Life University - Marietta, Georgia from November 20-22, 2015.
The USATF Coaching Education Level 1 program is intended as a starting point for coaches. One of the objectives of the Level 1 program is to put all coaches on common ground (i.e., speaking the same language). The Level 1 program covers all events in a rudimentary manner by emphasizing fundamentals, rules, safety/risk management, and instruction techniques. The Level 1 Course prepares an individual to coach at the junior high school, high school, club, and junior age division level.
4 Grants are available towards tuition. ***Application Deadline: November 3,2015***
CRITERIA:
1. Member of USATF-GA Association
2. Member of the USATF Coaches Registry
3. Current Adult or youth club, high school, middle school, or college coach
4. Application to include a two paragraph statement of your career goals and interest
     in this event
5.  Proof of Acceptance (Registration) into the course
6.  Have Willingness to join Coaches Advisory Mentoring in the
     Georgia Association
