Sandy Snow is a long time member of USATF Georgia. She became involved with the Association when her oldest daughter was 10 years old. She was looking for a running club for her daughter to join and decided they would join the Northside Red Runners. Coach Red Smith invited Sandy to attend the Annual Meeting for USATF Georgia and she came away as the secretary of Association! She served as secretary under Presidents Lewis Gainey, Bill Sheskey and Ernest Dixon.

 During her time with the Georgia Association, she also organized track meets, traveled with the Red Runners to USATF National Championships and worked as an official. While her daughter and later her son, decided to compete in other sports in high school, Sandy fell in love with the sport of track and field and never looked back.

Today, Sandy serves as USATF Director of International and Team Championships and travels all over the world. Sandy works with the U.S. national teams, which includes team staff selection, staff training, training camps, team sign-up, travel, uniform distribution, staff communications, housing, meet entries, athlete needs and on-site management. Snow works closely with the USOC and the IAAF in the planning for each IAAF World Indoor and Outdoor Championships along with each Olympic Games.

 Sandy related that she still counts the Georgia Association as her home base and credits many of the things she learned from Coach Red Smith.

Volunteers Needed for the Publix Georgia Marathon  & Expo
Every year for the last several years a team of volunteers from USATF Georgia volunteer to man a water station at Mile 7 of the Publix Georgia Marathon course (North Avenue and Freedom Parkway).  The marathon, scheduled for March 22, 2015, is only a few short weeks away and the Association needs at least 50 volunteers.

It's a great opportunity to give back to the sport. Whether you are a family, a Club, or an individual, WE NEED YOU.  Registration Information:

AJC Peachtree Road Race Registration Opens March 1
USATF Georgia Members - if you are a member of the Atlanta Track Club who joined or renewed their membership by February 1, 2015, you receive the benefit of early guaranteed entry to the 2015 AJC Peachtree Road Race. Member registration opens on Sunday, March 1 and closes at 11:59 p.m. on Saturday, March 14.

 Lottery Registration - Registration for the 2015 AJC Peachtree Road Race will open to the public at www.AJC.com/peachtree on Sunday, March 15, 2015. Those wishing to be one of the 60,000 participants selected can register for the event lottery online anytime during the eight day period beginning Sunday, March 15 until 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, March 22.
