A Few More Items from the USATF Annual Meeting
USATF Georgia extends congratulations to the following individuals:
  • Coach Ron Williams (DC Express) for being re-elected President of the National  Youth Track Coaches Association.
  • Tom McCormack for being ranked by USATF as the top Masters runner in the 60-64 age division in the LDR series, and especially for being named overall  Male Masters Athlete of the year. Tom runs for the Atlanta Track Club. (Pictured at right.)
  •  To the Atlanta Track Club for being awarded the USATF 10km LDR Men's Championship (AJC Peachtree Road Race) for 2015.
     

Congratulations - USATF GA T&F!
We would like to thank USATFGA T&F Chair Gwenn Loud-Johnson for a great line up of Lunch and Learns throughout 2014.The latest Lunch and Learn - "Making Good Transitions" took place on November 29th and featured Olympian Dwight Phillips.

Dwight shared his journey through high school to the Gold Medal podium! The attendees were inspired to believe in their dream to reach for the top! 
Note:  Dwight recently was appointed USATF GA AAC (Athletes Advisory) Chair.

 

 
 
Chaunte Lowe named 2014 USATF Outdoor High Jump Champion
 
INDIANAPOLIS (USATF National)

 
Chaunte Lowe (Riverside, California) has been named the 2014 USATF Outdoor Chaute Lowe 2012 Champion in the women's high jump, following a ruling by the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) that imposed a 21-month sanction against Inika McPherson (Houston, Texas) and disqualified her results.

 
Lowe, a two-time Olympian, initially finished as the runner-up in Sacramento, clearing 1.94m/6-4.25. The American record holder, Lowe is now a six-time USATF outdoor champion.

USATF National JO XC Championships
MYRTLE BEACH, South Carolina

The USATF National Junior Olympic Cross Country Championships were held on December 12, 2014 at the Whispering Pines Golf Course in Myrtle Beach, SC. Over 3,400 athletes competed in the event, representing 16 regions and over 300 track teams.
